Vancouver, British Columbia (FSCwire) - The Wonderfilm Media Corporation (“Wonderfilm” or “Company”) (TSXV: WNDR) announces that July 1st is the expected start date of principal photography for the Company’s latest two feature films, “The Christmas Cupid” and “A New Years Kiss”.
“The Christmas Cupid”, with Michael Sellers taking on the Director reigns, boasts a strong cast that include Elisabeth Harnois (Skin in the Game, the Work Wife), Jonathan Togo (Rising Tide, Teachers) and Chad Michael (House of Wax, Freaky Friday). Christmas Cupid is shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana, taking full advantage of that State’s film industry tax support program.
“A New Years Kiss”, simultaneously going to camera on the west coast of British Columbia, is directed by David Langlois (A Star’s Obsession, Dirty Wheel). Shooting is in and around Victoria, British Columbia with cast to be revealed shortly. A New Years Kiss is also gaining the full financial incentive offered by BC Film and the federal government through CAVCO.
Wonderfilm’s Kirk Shaw commented, “These two Christmas movies mark the midpoint of the calendar year, but for us at Wonderfilm, they equally mark the halfway milestone for the completion of the Company’s $60 million plus production budget forecast. With our pace of production ramping up, Wonderfilm is on target to exceed our original $60 million plus forecast as exciting new film and business opportunities solidify for the Company. I’m also happy to bring the production of “A New Year’s Kiss” to British Columbia. Although Wonderfilm is an international Company with offices in Beverly Hills and Vancouver, my roots remain in BC so I’m thrilled to bring new opportunities to actors, crew members and technicians working in the province.”
Additionally, Mouane Sengsavang has resigned as Corporate Secretary and Jasmine Chiu has resigned as Director of the Company. The board of directors has appointed Norman Tsui, currently a Director and Executive Vice-President of the Company, to be interim Corporate Secretary until an appropriate permanent replacement is identified.
Kirk Shaw, CEO of Wonderfilm stated, “The board of directors and management would like to thank Ms. Sengsavang and Ms. Chiu for their contributions to the Company. We wish them the very best.” The Company will begin the search for potential Board candidates immediately.
